Emergency Definition And List
Definition of a maintenance emergency – A condition that is immediately threatening to the life, and safety of residents, staff or structures.
The following is a list of emergencies that should be called out to maintenance for immediate repair during and after normal business hours:
- Fires of any kind (Call 911)
- Gas leaks/ Gas odors (Call 911)
- Broken water pipes, leaking pipes, flood
- No electric power in unit
- Electrical hazards, sparking outlets
- No water / unsafe water
- Sewer or toilet blockage
- Roof leaks
- Lock outs
- Tripping hazards (sidewalks, hallways)
- Dangerous structural defects
- No heat or hot water
- Doors or windows will not lock
- Inoperable smoke / CO detectors beeping, chirping
- Clogged sink
- Sink or bathtub faucet will not shut off
- Refrigerator or stove is not working
- Snow and ice hazard
If a tenant has an emergency during normal business, they should call the office at (413) 743-5924.
If a tenant has an emergency after hours, weekends or holidays they should contact Matt Puricelli (Maintenance Supervisor) at (413) 346-3707 If no answer, please call William Schrade, Ex. Director at (413) 652-1617.
